STRIKER U-12 BOYS ROSTERS PLAYERS WITH OTHER CLUB FOR SPRING 2010 SEASON

 Due to several players playing spring baseball, the Strikers will not formally organize as a team for the spring 2010 season.  However several team members will be rostered (eight players) with two other club teams.   Hayes Lawson, Caleb Duckworth and Sammi Tyrrell will roster with WKFC 98 team.  Graham Lawson, Slade Culver and Jacob Curry will roster with WKFC 99 team.  Tanner Weatherbee and Ryan Schroeder will roster with Paducah Storm 98 team.  The Strikers will evaluate the formation of the Fall 2010 team at the end of summer. U12 Strikers Serve as Demostration Group for Coaching Training Class

During the weekend of August 15th and 16th, the Strikers where given a great opportunity to work with the Director of Player Development for Kentucky Youth Soccer Association ( Adrian Parrish). The Strikers worked with him during the D certification for coaches in Paducah, Kentucky at the Sports Complex. The team worked hard, had fun and learned some new tactics from the trainer. Coach, Tim Lawson, said this was a real opportunity for the kids to work with someone who has both state and national credentials. The Strikers look forward to the coming season.

      STRIKERS U-11 BOYS FINISH SECOND AT MCCSA SPRING SHOOTOUT

The  Metropolis Strikers u-11 boys traveled to Carbondale last Thursday to take on SI United before tournament play. The Strikers continued good soccer play both on offensive and defensive side of the  ball winning by a score of 4 to 0. The Strikers traveled to Murray, Kentucky to play in the MCCSA Spring Shootout this past weekend. The field of teams represented 3 different states with teams from Missouri, Tennessee and Illinois.

The Strikers took on Sikeston FC Cosmos in the first game and controlled play on both sides of ball but a late score by the Cosmos tied the game 2 to 2. In the second game, the Strikers played Clarksville Impact and dominated play on both sides of ball winning the game by a score of 6 to 0. In the third game, the Strikers took on their rival Jackson United Tornadoes. Both teams battled from start to finish with two late scores by both clubs ending the game tied at 2 to 2. In the final game of tournament, the Strikers took on Royals FC from Clarksville, Tennessee. The Strikers dominated play winning the game 6 to 1. The coaching staff stated that the Strikers played well on both sides of the ball during tournament play but just came up short by 1 goal. The Strikers took second place in the tournament.

The Strikers next game is against Paducah Storm U-11 boys on Thursday, March 26^th at 5:30 at the McCracken Soccer Complex and travel to Mayfield, Kentucky to play in the Jackson Purchase Invitational on Saturday, March 28^th and 29^th.
